In revit 2023, I discovered that if you created stairs manually using sketch tool and you go to any plan view the stairs was made, revit 2023 crashes. You can delete the stairs use ther other stair creation commands and see.

The crashes due to the stairs has now happened to me, but a few attempts later, any files I open are crashing immediately. Not sure how to fix it besides uninstall and hope for the best.

Hi @kateEU7PB ,

Looks like your issue to more related to Revit UI(product usage) than Revit API.

Are you doing anything programmatically using Revit API?

If not, then Please be aware that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Therefore, you cannot expect an answer to a question such as yours relating to installation, product usage, or end-user support issues here.

You should try one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead for that:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/this-forum-is-for-revit-api-programming-questions-not...

The people there are much better equipped to answer your question than us.

I hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Mine crashes when simply loading a simple family. It crashes when I'm doing nothing. I've updated everything. I'm in the process of cleaning out all of my add ins - which is silly, imo. This isn't okay, and it shouldn't be causing this level of wasted (BILLABLE) time.  Just a joke - i've said more curse words about this iteration than recent memory allows. I'm used to breaking revit when working with large model or complex models. None of what I'm doing now should be causing this to break.

Hi, may I know how can I fix Revit 2023 which keeps crashing? Every time I open, it closes unexpectedly. I have even tried to reinstall it twice.

I have had this same issue in the past and have spent hours fixing the issue, only to have it pop up the next day again. There is a corrupt registry that is causing an issue with the program. Uninstalling and reinstalling will not fix it, as this registry does not get deleted or removed during the uninstallation process, if you have any other autodesk software on your computer. It is a solvable problem, but you will spend less time reinstalling your operating system with the full hardrive format option. This will rebuild the registry stack from scratch and allow you to install a clean version of the autodesk software and all the latest drivers for you hardware. I tend to have to do this every couple of years. My pc works faster as a result.
