Revit 2019 & 2020 Macro Manager buttons greyed-out

I can't use the macro manager to setup macros with either Revit 2019, or Revit 2020. I also have 2021, and 2022 installed, but they are both fine. The main issue is all the buttons on the macro manager are greyed-out, so I can't add any macros.

I have tried following the help topics available, but nothing has worked so far.

My settings are correct, and set to allow macros.

I've tried replacing the macro folder at: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Macros, but this hasn't worked either.

Finally, I have tried reinstalling the software, but this also did nothing.

I am completely stuck for ideas on what could be causing this issue, and I can't find any help online which solves my problem

Hi @timothy.mcdougall,

Check out the links below of a similar problem to see if they can help fix your problem.

You can also try the following steps to see if your problem wil be solved

  1. Close all Revit instances that are running(You can also try to restart your computer).
  2. Browse to your Macros folder i.e C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Macros\{{Revit Year i.e. 2019}}.
  3. Move the folder with the year of Revit you are working with in to a temporary folder i.e. Documents.
  4. Start your Revit application.
  5. Go to your Macro Manager and try to create a new module then create a new macro.
