Revit 2014 - V7 DGN Level Standard

Found an issue in the DGN export options, it can’t handle the V7 DGN Level Standard via API for export.

In the API we can read the layer mapping standard “V7 DGN Level Standard” from an Export Setup but when we assign this its value "DGNV7" to the DGN export options : we get an Bad Argument error during export.

LayerMapping = "DGNV7"

The tool tip for the LayerMapping refers to valid standards as AIA, BS1192, CP83, ISO1367.  But Revit 2014 has the V7 DGN Level Standard listed and it returns "DGNV7" so I would thought it could export the standard.

It handles the other standards ok.

Can the Autodesk Revit ADN team confirm if the above is an issue.

thanks

Dear Simon,

I will happily take a look at it for you.

Before looking at the API aspect, though, can you please confirm that this V7 DGN Level Standard is supported through the manual user interface?

As always, if that is not the case, then the API will hardly support it either.

Thank you!

Happy New Year to you!

Cheers,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy

Yes I can confirm that the V7 DGN  Level Standard is able to export manually from Revit 2014.

We have tested in Revit 2014 Update 2 and the issue still occurs.

regards

Simon

Dear Simon,

Thank you for your confirmation.

I logged the issue REVIT-28326 [API support for DGN7 fails] with our development team for this on your behalf as it requires further exploration and possibly a modification to our software.

As I mentioned in my answer to you via ADN, please avoid submitting to ADN and the forum in parallel, or, if you insist, please, please, please let us know about it to help us avoid having several people researching the same issue in separate threads or cases. Thank you!

Cheers,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, we are doing a large project for the City of Toronto. Are client is TTC and we have to use a seed file with Revit 2015. I am running into conflict while using the seed file with Revit 2015 and the way it reads the LEVELS and COLOUR INDEX when it translates the Categories.

In these 2 colour index all colours are in wrong order eventhought Revit 2015 is using the RIGHT SEED FILE.

Below is the COLOUR INDEX exported from REVIT using ECLRT Seed file.dgn under the location shown ECLRT Seed 2D.dgn

Below is default ECLRT Seed file which is current where the COLOUR #7 reads the right code as per TTC STANDRADS (0,255,255)
