Revision numbering to British Standards.

Hi All,

I have been searching through the forums for quite some time for an answer to the revision numbering issues.

In the UK we have revision numbering such where the Prefix to the drawing number must contain one of the following initial;

P – Preliminary,

T – If the job is still at Tender stage

C – Construction

I have looked at the following thread;

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep-forum/revision-numbering/m-p/6214101/highlight/true#M31804 but unfortunately this does not really answer the question.

I want to make use of the revision tool and scheduling option to produce the revision history, but unfortunately its proving more difficult than its worth.

Any help, advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hi Mike,

As I'm sure you've discovered, it's easy to do two revision numbering styles. (Numbering with a letter prefix, and Alphanumeric *numbers* with a letter prefix.) Getting the third is a real headache.

It's not something I have found a solution for. We still use custom revision tools I wrote for Revit 2011.

A possible workaround would be to ignore the revision parameter entirely, and manually enter the revision in the 'Issued To' field or something like that. Or use the new combine parameters scheduling capability. Argh.

Cheers,

-Matt
