I need to get Revit for a class I have for college.  I want to know people's views on whether a laptop with this configuration/specs will run the program well or not.  Please let me know as I do not know much about computers!

this is the excerpt from the above link

Autodesk Revit software products will use multiple cores for many tasks, using up to 16 cores for near-photorealistic rendering operations.
Memory16 GB RAM
  • Usually sufficient for a typical editing session for a single model up to approximately 700 MB on disk. This estimate is based on internal testing and customer reports. Individual models will vary in their use of computer resources and performance characteristics.
  • Models created in previous versions of Revit software products may require more available memory for the one-time upgrade process.
Video Display ResolutionsMinimum:

Maximum:
Ultra-High (4k) Definition Monitor
Video AdapterDirectX 11 capable graphics card with Shader Model 5

Thanks Ganesh.  But will the software work with the original configuration and just run better with a 1 TB SSD or do you think the 1 TB SSD is critical?  Thanks again!

The original configuration will work great. In reviewing the specifications it also looks like you do have the 1tb SSD selected for the computer. Below indicates that you should have a 256gb drive as a system drive as well as a 1TB drive for storage and programs.
