Problem adding plugin to Revit 2017 Evaluation Version

I have followed the tutorial My First Plugin Training  but after building the .dll and then adding the .addin file to

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2017\AddIns"

When I open Revit there are no external tools listed under the Add-Ins tab.

I have also noticed that none of the other Add-in folders in the aforementioned directory are also not available i.e. AutoLoader, FabricationPartBrowser etc.

I am currently using an evaluation version of Revit, could it be that these features are not available in this version?

I would appreciate any assistance on this problem.

Try adding the files to 'C:\Users\<login>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2017\'.

Ensure that there isn't a path in the assembly field in you .addin file; just the file name (including extension).

If it still doesn't appear, have a peek into your latest journal file to see if that provides any clues.

(C:\Users\<login>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2017\Journals\)

Cheers,

-Matt

Make sure you have Revit 2017 and not Revit LT 2017. Revit LT doesn't support addins.
