Playing Journal Files

I just recently learned about this functionality and decided to try and test it out to see if I could take advantage of it. I opened Revit, imported some keyboard shortcuts, closed Revit, then copied the journal file to my desktop. To test it, I reset my keyboard shortcuts then opened the journal file with Revit. It seemed to work successfully; Revit opened and closed without any errors. But, when I opened Revit back up, the keyboard shortcuts weren't updated like I expected them to be.

Is this to be expected? I'm not sure if I'm just missing a step or if it just doesn't function that way.

Interesting observation.

Basically, officially, the use of journal files for programming and customisation purposes is not supported.

On the other hand, journal files provide a lot of useful functionality and are used in many ways.

I cannot comment on the keyboard shortcut behaviour you describe.
