Plant 3D and Revit collaboration in BIM360

Hello, I have earlier used the workflow where I create a Revit project, and place an in place model with an exported DWG of the Plant3D project. Using the standard workflow with NWC exporting for all the other disciplines.

I want to automate this, using the collaborate feature in Navisworks, and open models from the "shared" folder in BIM360.

I have tried starting a new collaboration project in plant3D, and checked in the drawings to BIM360, then link the Plant3D drawings directly to Revit without creating a RVT collaboration project dedicated to the discipline that is drawing in Plant3D. From what I read on forums, everyone is still using the "old" workflow with creating a revit project and placing the exported DWG's as in place model.

Is there a reason not to link the Plant3D project drawings directly to Revit? I have tested it and it does not cause any errors. I am worried that I implement this workflow and it causes errors later in the project as I know that this has been a problem on earlier versions, or that the model will become slow if I link the DWG's directly.

If you have tested it thoroughly and it works reliably I see no reason not to use that workflow.

Maybe others just have not discovered that efficient approach, or it only became usable recently.

There have been a lot of recent and ongoing enhancements accessing BIM360 and other cloud hosted models.

Maybe you are just lucky that they fit well with your requirements.

Please share it in detail once you have it up and running in case others wish to follow your example.

Did you check the properties of each component should be same as what in the Plant 3D Properties?

In about the BIM360 or ACC called now I think, if possible, to collaboration of Plant 3D between Revit vice versa without exporting. they have options there, like a Model coordination, Design collaboration with the swim lane function and other way option is in the BIM360 Glue.
