PickObject method doesn't work in debug mode

Hi there. I need your help.
Does anybody know why Revit doesn't allow to select element when debugging process reaches PickObject method line. Thank you in advance!

You need to step to the next line in order to trigger revit UI for picking object, if you are in line 23 the code in this line is not executed yet
