I have done a bit of searching but need to ask for a quicker answer.
Is it possible to populate a family parameter with a list of options from an external data source/base?
My current approach is to have a group of dummy families, each family contains one parameter option, which gives me a drop down of choices when a family is selected. My team mate is asking if we can keep the data in an external database and avoid the dummy family idea. But I don't think I can populate this list into a family parameter without having a family to hold this parameter value.
I am looking for something similar to "View Scale" where the scale choices are preSet, I just have to choose one. I see a lot of the built-in parameters have this drop down ability, how do I accomplish one of my own?
