label parameter for title block

I am trying to create a parameter for the date of thephase the project is in i.e. "state review", "issue for bid set", "issue for construction" and I would like it so that when I change the date it is reflected in all the sheets. I have created a Text Type of Parameter. When I go to choose the category for it the Sheet category is only available in the instance check box. I would like the parameter to be a type parameter so that the date change will show in every sheet.

Use the category Project Information, this one can be Type based.

when I choose the "Type" as apposed to the "Instance" the category for Project Information goes away

Okay, but When you assign an instance parameter to the category project information, it will be assign to every sheet.

Is this something you are trying using Revit UI tools ? Or using Revit API ?
