Keyboard Shortcut that Pre-Selects a Checkbox

We do a lot of section views  and callouts that need to reference other detail views, but it is such a drag to click that little Reference Other Views checkbox in the Sections/Callouts panel every time I need to draw a section. Is there a way to create a macro/script that can run from a keyboard shortcut to access the Section/Callout tools or AND also pre-select the checkbox to Reference Other View? I tried to search the forums for a similar question but didn't really come up with anything close. Thanks!

I believe that quite a lot of generic Windows scripting and automation tools are available that can achieve what you ask for, completely independently of Revit, useful for any and all Windows desktop apps:

E.g., AutoHotKey:

Thanks for the information. I will check it out. I had looked at AutoHotKeys earlier, but I couldn't tell if it would select checkboxes within the ribbon panels in Revit.
