Key Note tags disappearing

Our team is new to Revit and have been experiencing many issues that would not have been an issue in CAD.

With all projects, we are provided a "baseplan" (in this case a base model) from the Architect of Record (AOR). We then use this to shift things around, place finish tags, furniture, ceilings, etc. as it relates to the interior design.

The problem with Revit however is that we take a ton of time placing thousands of key notes within the drawings and when we upload a more current baseplan, they all disappear. This is not an efficient way of working. Any suggestions? How do we fix this?

Any assistance is much appreciated.

Dear Jaymie,

Thank you for your query.

Welcome to Revit and its API!

I assume you are not actually using the API yet.

At least, I hope so…

I would very strongly recommend that you solve your issue manually through the end user interface first, before starting to think about addressing it programmatically through the API.

You should always research the optimal workflow and best practices to address your task at hand manually through the user interface first.

To do so, please discuss and analyse it with an application engineer, product usage expert, or product support.

Once you have got that part sorted out, it is time to step up into the programming environment.

Unfortunately, this is not the best place to ask any such end user questions.

Please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Therefore, you cannot expect an answer to a question such as yours relating to product usage or end user support issues here.

You should try one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead for that:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/this-forum-is-for-revit-api-programming-questions-not...

The people there are much better equipped to answer your question than us programming nerds.

I hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Jeremy
