How to get double swing/single swing info from doors and windows?

Hi there,

I'm trying to understand whether a door or window is double/single swing.

I know that I can get the swing direction of these elements by using the HandOrientation. But that parameter is obviously only meaningful in cases of single-swing.

The thing is that it's clearly visible whether a door is double swing in Revit floor plans, so I figure this info must be set by a parameter in the family/ family symbol somewhere. Where is this parameter located and how would I access it via the API?

Thanks in advance!

I just answered your similar question:

As I said there, I believe this is completely up to the content creator, the author of the family definition. Probably, no general rule can be given. Have you ever created a family definition yourself? A window family? There are no rules. There may be best practices. Maybe you can research what they are and let us know. However, that would be a question for the more generic Architectural forum rather than here in the API group.
