How to Copy Paste Tags between Documents

Is is possible using the view specific overload of the copy paste method, to copy and paste tags where both documents have identical copies of host elements in identical locations, the source is a project template? I amimplementing in 2021+

I doubt that the tag can be clever enough to transport some of its information from the source document and integrate that successfully with the other information (e.g., new host) in the target exactly in the manner you expect. Can you achieve what you want manually in the end user interface? The API seldom provides any additional functionality beyond the UI.
