How to connect 2 pieces of conduits with my conduit offset family?

Hello! I have created a conduit offset family to connect both conduits together when at different elevations. I am looking for a way through the Revit API to place the family and connect the ends together. I have looked over some example code and still cant grasp placing the family instance. Could anyone help me out? If you need more info let me know! Thank you.
