Freeze when exporting to Autodesk CFD

Hello,

Fist of all, feel free to point me to the correct place if this is an incorrect board for this post.

When I use the Launch Active Model tool of the CFD add-in, Autodesk CFD launches normally but soon stops responding indefinitely (up to 50 minutes and no change at all). This also happens when I export to ACIS first and then open the geometry with CFD.

This workflow has worked for me before, and with similarly complex geometries, so I think there must be something in the Revit model that is not friendly with the exporting process.

How can I troubleshoot this problem? Are there any features/elements/families that I should avoid?

Thank you in advance.

Pol

Dear Pol,

Yes, indeed, this is unfortunately not the best place to ask such a question.

Please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Therefore, you cannot expect an answer to a question such as yours relating to licensing, installation, product usage or end user support issues here.

You should try one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead for that:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/this-forum-is-for-revit-api-programming-questions-not...

The people there are much better equipped to answer your question than us programming nerds.

I hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Jeremy

I will be reposting to the Architecture board.

Best regards,
