Free Revit add-in: export models to a standalone EXE viewer — no Revit needed to view

I made a free Revit add-in and wanted to share it with the community.

ElementView solves this: one click in Revit exports your model into a standalone EXE viewer. A few hundred MB of Revit model shrinks to just a dozen MB. Send the EXE to anyone — they just double-click and it opens. No Revit required, no extra software, not even an internet connection.

The feedback I have is simple: if I send a link of a .exe file to a client, they're going to ask if my email address was hacked.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve added an HTML export. You can now export your Revit model as a single self-contained .html file.

How does that assuage a client's security concern? You don't expect a text document to arrive as a .png. You don't expect an image file to arrive as a .csv.

Why would you expect a model file to arrive as a .html?

Model files have been exportable as .pdf for years now, and I still get clients that assume it's problematic. That's why Autodesk Viewer exists. That's why buildingSmart partnered to develop OpenIFCViewer. It's a deliberate container.
