Custom duct/pipe profile with the API

Do we have the ability to create custom duct/pipe profiles with the API. I would like to create an octogon shaped duct and pipe. I also do design visualazition and revit does not triangulate curved surfaces well. I would repalce existing pipes/ducts with my low-poly version before export. Is there another solution that to this using the API? Thank you!

Unfortunately, you cannot do something with the UI, you cannot do it with the API either in Revit.
