I'm working on a project that is requesting .rvt files to be used as revit backgrounds. These backgrounds are needing to be broken out by content that is view specific.Even though I have all the content existing in a single model, they want individual .rvt models of each export view. In order to accomplish this, I had sought to create element collections based off of export views, create groups from the element collections, then create a revit link from the group and post that link for collaborative use by other trades.
When working in revit, the ability to create groups from links is pretty straight forward. I'm able to select a set of elements, group them together and I am prompted as to whether I'd like to create an external link from the group. I'm wondering if there is a known way of carrying out the same task of converting a group through the Revit API?
