Careers in South Africa Revit API

Hello,

I hope this is an appropriate forum to ask this question, but this is the only place I can think of casting the largest net to get a response. Are there any Revit users based in South Africa who specialize in working specifically with the Revit API within firms (local or remote). Would it be correct to assume that those who do are BIM managers? I'm learning C# and the Revit API to eventually expand my career options to better customize Revit and possibly make company-specific plugins to accelerate workflow.

TL;DR: Is it a wise career move to learn C# and the Revit API in the South African context?

Hey,

Autodesk provides information about consultants you could hire:

https://servicesmarketplace.autodesk.com/?utm_source=adskAppStore&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=l...

You can filter by product and country.

Also, I checked the Autodesk Group Network but unfortunately, there are no groups in South Africa. I think groups would be a good place to ask. Maybe it would be a good opportunity to open a new one and create a community there.

I would also look on Linkedin.

Regarding your assumption, I think it is not correct. Some managers know about programming, but I would say that it is not their main responsibility. Anyone can develop a tool, but normally you will have a team or a developer in charge.

I am not familiar with the South Africa context but learning C# and Revit API is a good option to move forward with your career as Revit Developer.

Good luck.

Kind regards.
