AWSSDK with Revit 2025

Hello,

My plugin is using AWSSDK.DynamoDBv2 nuget package.
This works fine for Revit up to version 2024 (with AWSSDK version 3.3.0).

Even though I tried to update the package version to the latest (I thought maybe this will be working in Revit 2025) - it seems like Revit by default loads version 3.3.0 regardless of the package I am trying to force it to use for Revit 2025.

Printing this always yields 3.3.0, regardless which package is actually installed:

var awsCore = Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(Amazon.Runtime.AmazonServiceClient));
var awsDynamoDB = Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(Amazon.DynamoDBv2.AmazonDynamoDBClient));

Debug.WriteLine($"Loaded AWS SDK Core Version: {awsCore?.GetName().Version}");
Debug.WriteLine($"Loaded AWS SDK DynamoDB Version: {awsDynamoDB?.GetName().Version}");

Questions:

1. Someone has any experience with Revit 2025 and DynamoDBv2 package?

2. Which package version should be working in Revit 2025?

3. How can I install multiple versions of that package so that version 3.3.0 will be loaded to Revit 2021-2024 while latest version will be loaded to Revit 2025?

BTW, in my bin Debug2025 folder I do see the correct package version in Revit 2025 but in runtime it seems like Revit loads by default 3.3.0.

Thank you!

For Revit 2025 you need the version that supports .NET 8 (could also be named .NET Core 8)

Revit 2021-2024 uses .NET Framwork 4.8

Is this a package for Revit Dynamo? (not familiar with AWSSDK.DynamoDBv2)

I am aware to the .NET version for Revit 2025, and actually my plugin do work in Revit 2025.

The issue is with the AWSSDK from Amazon (unrelated to Revit Dynamo).

As I said it seems like Revit (in all versions) be default loads version 3.3.0 and I assume that in Revit 2025 I need a different package version as this specific versios simply does not work in Revit 2025.

You can look at the Dynamo source code and determine what AWSSDK version is loaded. I see that the current nuget packagen supports .NET 8:

Thank you, @jeremy_tammik.
But the issue I am encountering with is that Revit loads an older version by default (version 3.3.0), no matter what AWS DynamoDBv2 nuget package appear in my project.
How can I force Revit to load a specific version other than its default?

Oh dear. If Revit loads it by itself, you either have to live with that or isolate your add-in's .NET environment. In Revit 2025, this is entirely possible, as explained  here, on RevitLookup Dependency Isolation Ends DLL Hell:

Cursor solved my issue by forcing Revit to use a specific dynamodbv2.dll for Revit 2025 and above.
Whoever encounters this similar issue - feel free to contact me.
