API: When will Autodesk bring RealRvt or similar?

DigiPara delivers BIM solutions for elevators and escalators. So far we produce the BIM files by creating 3D-DWG files and import these into Revit using our own plugin. This is a slow process and requires an addin on the architects side.

I know that the whole BIM software industry urgently needs a library to natively produce revit project and family files.

What is the Autodesk plan on that?

When will it be available?

Thank you and best regards,

Andreas

I think we should be asking more & more families from manufacturer directly. I have seen some manufacturer preparing the Revit family for there client which are parametric one I found was of crane which has many different parameters.

Hi Andreas,

Welcome to Revit Answer Day!

Right now you can use Revit APIs to create new projects and families. That will require a plugin running on Revit (in-process) developed with .NET compatible code.

We have no plans to deliver a stand-alone library, you'll need a running instance of Revit to execute the code.

Hope I understood your question, please let me know if I didn't.
Regards,

Thank you for your post.  In this case our development team is always eager and actively looking for ways to improve the interface and collaboration of our products. We do have a development product feedback link that can help build momentum in functionality changes like this. For reference I have listed this below. I would suggest that you also submit this feedback through the link below, and explain the business case for such and improvement, and how a user can benefit from this change in day-to-day navigation of the software. I understand this is another post, but this will help explain to the product manager the need for this change, which can then be leveraged in round table discussions for enhancements tot eh product.

I hope this helps.
