Analysis Visualisation Framework still fails to print

Has anyone at the factory had a chance to review the issue, linked below, that was submitted 2 years ago?

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/problem-printing-revit-analysis-visualization-framewo...

I've confirmed this is still a problem in the latest release.  This problem is causing some serious headaches for our mutual customers.  It's frustrating to see such a poor response from Autodesk, especially given the efforts our company has gone to to document and report the issue.  The problem is hurting our sales, and probably hurting Autodesk's sales as well.  Please advise on what it will take to get someone at Autodesk to take this seriously.

Thanks.

Any update on this? Will this bug be fixed in Revit 2023?

It isn't something I can fix (would need to be fixed by Autodesk).  But I checked Revit 2023 and no luck, this year.  Maybe Revit 2024.  Fingers crossed.

Ah I meant to reply to Autodesk on that one. Must be a pretty complicated issue....

Being as this part of Revit has been replaced by something new I can't see this ever getting fixed.

I think it is best if Elumtools moves to the new system, challenging and time consuming though that may be.

There is no point waiting years for something that will never happen, might as well bite the bullet and move on.

Next year, next year, next year, next year…

Sounds like Autodesk Revit is a low staffed/high profit tech company who thrives solely off their monopoly. The changes from the year to year release is laughably small compared to the highly demanded improvements requested from its user base.

Could you imagine if you got this kind of customer service from a local business?

With that said, does Autodesk have any updates on if this is slated for the 2025 release or not? Because it wasn’t fixed for the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024 releases like promised.

Dear Zach,

I doubt that Autodesk has made any promises whatsoever. In general, Autodesk avoids all such forward-looking statements:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward-looking_statement

The only statement on this topic that I have seen so far is this: We have looked at this many times and do not see a solution that is not a major investment.

Sorry for the bad news.

That said, I asked the development team for an update on the current state of this request, captured in ticket REVIT-130843 [Analysis Visualisation Framework still fails to print -- 14085888].

Best regards,

Jeremy

Yes. Sorry for my misleading wording. Fact is: this request was not implemented back then and has not made it into any further concrete plans yet. When I say a ticket is "scheduled", I always mean the ticket is "scheduled to be looked at". It was looked at and did not make it. The best way to motivate the development team and product managers to consider product enhancements is via the Revit Idea Station:

Whenever you require a new or enhanced Revit product or Revit API functionality, the Revit Idea Station is the place to go. Please search there for a corresponding wish list entry for the suggested functionality and add your comments to it, or create a new one, if none already exists:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/idb-p/302

Ensuring that a wish gets as many votes as possible helps underline its importance to you and the rest of the developer community.  The Revit Idea Station is currently one of the main driving input forces for Revit API enhancements.  The Revit development team looks there. Your comment here in the discussion forum might be overlooked. Thank you!

That said, as mentioned above, I have asked for an update on the issue REVIT-130843, so let's see what they have to say about this specific case.
