Accessing Revit APIs from Navisworks

Is there a way to access Revit APIs from Navisworks? I am thinking about cases where a Revit model is imported in Navisworks. From what I can tell Navisworks has a .Net API and addins can be created for it, but I haven't been able to find sufficient examples or documentation.

Specifically, we are interested in a plugin that would mirror Revit CustomExporter framework. Does Navisworks offer something similar?

If such a thing exists the below locations are the right starting points. If it isn't in the .chm file for example then it likely doesn't exist. Revit API runs within Revit not within Navisworks.
