Offline Model Making

Offline Model Making

Can you add an option to make models from photos offline? That funcionatity was in ReMake and it was very good.

This is also a problem for me. Frankly, it's unbelievable-- $40/month for a subscription, then i am FORCED to pay for cloud credits despite having adequate hardware (that I have already purchased!) to do it myself. This is eating into margins and utterly frustrating. I'm actively looking into alternatives now-- like agisoft photoscan or similar. Very disappointed with autodesk on this.

Discontinuing ReMake while its replacement lacks a key feature was a mistake in my view. Autodesk please either make ReMake fully available again (including the start-up and hobbyist licensing I believe it had) as an unsupported (no updates) product for people who want to use these features or bring the missing features into Recap Photo.

I was just made aware of this tonight.. I love Remake and have been singing it's praises. I only signed up in July and now I see it's being taken away. This is extremely frustrating as I am using the local/offline mode heavily. I also am now actively looking into alternatives. I don't want to as Remake works so well but I can't justify the cloud credits on top of a monthly fee.

I have cancelled my subscription to remake pro over this issue. Sad but hopefully some new alternative is created soon. I really feel like it is hard to get my work done with all the upheaval-- 123catch disabled, recap360 disabled... recap photo pushed into pro... forced to use cloud credits. Tearing my hair out! This stuff is simple and grad students can make photogrammetry software.

The cost is way to expensive and processing is way to slow.  Items I am asked to photogrammetry are bones at times and I have to explain to the curators the cost for that unidentifiable bone to scanned in now will be 12 dollars for 100 photo's. I seen cloud credits are 1 dollar per after the 100 are used. Which 100 can be used on one statue. I do artifacts/artefacts attempting to help preserve our history digitally. Autodesk ReMake was and is a fantastic piece of software. Having my museum spend the money to build the recommended specification to run ReMake locally at fastest possible speed was no small feat. Now, I have to explain to the organization the cost skyrocketing because of greed. Cloud computing is a nightmare.

I want to process locally period. I have been diving into trials and other photogrammetry software because of the changes. Using my phone as my internet connection source out in the field is not an option. Locations I visited are to remote and once I arrive I want to confirm the object came out correctly before leaving.

Please Autodesk bring back ReMake or charge a yearly fee.

Best Regards,

Without this feature, recap photo is an unfunny joke. I was initialy excited to discover that it is included in the PDM collection, to which I am subscribed. Upon downloading it though, I was very disappointing. 12 credits ($12?) for a simple reconstruction from 20 photos? Are you kidding?

I will be keeping my subscription to CapturingReality, the subscription costs less, let alone the credits, and will process up to 2500 photos offline, fast, with way more manual control. Ditching ReMake was a massive mistake, it was a great product and recap photo is not a worthy replacement by any stretch of the imagination.

Your photogrammetry offering is not competitive with other cloud based solutions, and it is not competitive with other offline solutions, so why bother. Close the department and stop teasing us, or pull your finger out and produce something so good it's disruptive.

Could not agree more with the other comments. This process is quickly becoming a standard in the industry, many moving over from scanning as the accuracy climbs. As others have said, there are other softwares out there which work on desktop and work well. Thats where i am headed if you guys cannot give us this option. This is rediculous. Stop flirting with Apple on your blk360 project and get back to giving us something we can use.

People including me have been begging for this for years, through the brief memento phase, back with 123d catch, etc.. Doing my annual-ish checkin on this subject today, looks like it hasn't changed... cmon Autodesk, take our money!!!!!

I want a local processing solution with an "Ultra" feature at a yearly subscription. The ultra setting should be only reliant to the local hardware. What was wrong with AutoDesk Remake in general can anyone tell me? Why do you charge to do an Ultra version? Do you not believe as an organization that another organization would not drop five grand to meet your recommended specifications? I do not need your render farm or farms help to process if I have the machine capable of doing it. I am just severely disappointed with Autodesk and the other software companies out there that have increased my workflow to produce the same standard I was producing a year ago.
