More often than not, I can use manual registration to get scans registered roughly in the correct position, but they will be up to a few hundred mm out of alignment. I would like to be able to nudge them into position along the x, y and z axes. What I envisage is to choose a scan, specify an increment to move it by, rotate to the view plane you wish to move it in and use the keyboard arrow keys to tap it into position.
I've run into this issue a few times in recent weeks. Once in a rectangular room, the scan put itself in the right location -- just turned 180 degrees. The other time I was scanning a fairly flat roof. There were a few structures to try and align with, but ReCap would constantly re-position the scans after merging to the same (incorrect) spot. Would be wonderful to position these manually or "nudge" them into the right location (or at least let me keep ReCap from significantly changing the chosen surfaces during point selection.) ReCap will tell me it's in the right spot during point selection , then rotate it in a random direction after merging.
