Load "Spherical" Images ONLY into ReCap

Credit to obourne: I want to build a ReCap project that is photos only - kind of a 3D montage of images inside from inside a structure. The intent is to have users navigate around like they normally would in ReCap with an imported 3D scan. My company sees value in having the ReCap project loaded with more images than scans i.e. as a project progresses we can re-image the job and "see" how the job is progressing relative to the original scan/image data. We would do this before, during and after or modification work. Assuming that we can manually register the location of the photos we just need to find a method for loading the photos directly.

Zach,

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are talking about in terms of seeing the job with the Theta.

In a few minutes you can upload a floor plan and place the thetas throughout it.  Inside the photos you can add links and buttons to other theta placements or to sites etc.

We are currently using this software and I find it very useful.  It's easy enough to be done from the field and they've just introduced a new update that allows to upload Revit models (I haven't used this yet though it's new) and it supports mobile VR (Samsung etc).  One beauty of this is that it is a tool that anyone of our construction hands can use intuitively, requires no training, and no special hardware.  A foreman onsite can run this off of his phone.  (I don't know if I embedded this link correctly, you may have to copy it manually). I will PM you another link as well.

On another note, PIX4D does make meshes from spherical photos although I haven't done this myself and can't attest to the quality or ease of use.

On an aside to this comment though, we would love to be able to upload 360 sphericals into recap as an attachment JPEG just like we do with normal photos.  (They can be uploaded, but I mean viewable in 360 degrees).
