Create a limit area or areas in CAD that can be import to Recap to generate selection of points within the area and being able to put the selection of points into a layer. Will help with to limit the point cloud areas use on Infraworks or CAD to only existing areas to remain. i did a project in where i combined a 3D model of the proposed areas and survey surface and point cloud but to get the model to look right i did filter the points in the proposed area on a layer off so in Infraworks was not showing. The process was painful because was done by eye, selecting points that i was guessing were to be disturbed.
