Layers!!!

Layers!!!

With moving into the realm of doing some real editing to the point cloud, A layers feature would be extremely helpful. Selecting groups or points and itemizing them in order to focus on the items you want. For example, a ground, vegetation, building layers that can be assigned as you select points. layers and layer management is something I think Autodesk excels in and has become known for; it only makes sense.

Hi,

ReCap pretty much has exactly this - it's called 'Regions'.  You can add any selection to a new or existing named Region and turn them on/off/highlighted individually or in groups.

Please have a try.

Yes, it has regions and they have their uses.

But it doesn not have usable layers and a usable layer interface that is robust and useful and FAST. Something JUST LIKE AutoCAD would be prfect and OMG SOOOOO much faster. Do you really expect us to turn on and off scan postions 1 at a time? Have you tried that with a hundred scans? how about 400?

Even ACAD's baked in pointcloud manager thing allows you to multiple select and turn on and off.

Hi @Anonymous,

Holding Alt while hiding/un-hiding will execute for all of the assigned regions.

That is great feature for isolating a single scan postion. True.

We are still greatly limited by only being able to isolate one scan.

We can't possibly think this would work for a professional project?

Its a pain with 40 scans let alone 400.

A control + Click to add single or Shift + for multiples is just plain normal windows or mac behavior to select more than one of anything.

Make it easy here.

You should be able to right click on scan locations and adjust properties like AutoCAD.

want to see it. Highlight the ones you want and isolate them. Want to add them to a region? Right click and add to region or "layer" or whatever you want to call it.
