I understand this idea has been previously posted, but… to further encourage development:
It would be exceptionally helpful to quickly integrate 3D and 2D CAD/models into a ReCap scene. The visual quality of the imported geometry could be basic (wireframe, simple coloured faces) to maintain ease of use, navigation speed and realtime performance.
Being able to integrate 2D CAD into a point cloud can quickly confirm dimensional accuracy such as the comparison of architectural plans to scan data. With 3D CAD, inserting a proposed building addition into an existing, scanned environment to confirm views and impact analysis. The visual simplicity of the imported CAD would indicate a work in progress as opposed to a finished, photoreal Max rendering.
