There are several posts already which elude to features/tools supporting this request. Recap needs the ability to reference/import objects/models from varied coordinate definitions and provide tools to align the scan to the imported objects/models.
For example, I have used 3 point rotation in AutoCAD to align a referenced scan into a model or with coordinate points, in AutoCAD, then I have transferred target coordinates back to recap to align models. I have also aligned planes/lines to scan surfaces in AutoCAD and used opposite origin coordinates to define origin in Recap to align model. Also, I may want to use the x,y of 2 or more points to align with a scan in AutoCAD but not use the z of all but perhaps one of the points or even a third point to establish the elevation. In this case I choose to use the z vector in my scan over attempting to align 3 points spot on in a model.
Providing the ability to reference/merge objects/models into Recap with the ability to snap to the geometry as if you were manipulating the scan in AutoCAD. Let me place an object on my scan and use the object to align to a point on referenced/merged object/models. That's about it.
