Assign Coordinates to Scan Points

Assign Coordinates to Scan Points

with recap the only way to control a scan location is with spheres or targets. Every other scan software offers "scan points" as another option to control the scan. For Example: I can clearly see the point of a painted traffic lane arrow. we have surveyed the point. why cant I use that scan point to control the scan and assign a state plane coordinate/elevation to it? Most cases we only use spheres to match scans together. we don't control them.

You can do that.  Just select the point with the green/blue/red marker, then click the 'pin' below it.  That will allow you to 'make survey point' just like you do with targets.

I would like to 3d orbit the finished cloud, with multiple scans combined and assign cords. Not just using the scanner view perspective registration view.

Yes, the process I described will transform the entire dataset (once you provide 3 or more surveyed points).

The only way I see to do this is through the individual scan perspectives in the registration views. I would like to pick a scan point in the finished cloud from above. from the scanner view I can not clearly pick the center of a manhole looking at it from a side angle. What am I missing if you can do this?

Sorry for the confusion, I understand your comment now.  You're right - this workflow is only available in registration mode, based on points extracted from RealView.

We have received this request before and will consider it in the future.
