2d or 3d import into recap for alignment

It would be great if we could import 2d dwg's or 3d files for the use of alignment.  if we could select a location on the drawing or model and associate it with a point in the picture that would be a great way to align project data.

I concur. Also full control over transformations x,y,z and rotation

I agree with david.dreffs and EcoJim. Right now I would need precisely this feature. As a workaround I import the point cloud to Autocad and compare it to the dwg there. I can move and rotate the point cloud in Autocad [Autocad frequently crashes if you rotate a point cloud but that is another story..] Unfortunately I cannot export the tweaked cloud from plain vanilla Autocad. Instead, I make a note of the rotations and translations, open the original cloud again in Cloudcompare, which has a nice transformation tool, apply the transformations there and save the cloud.

Excellent workaround! I use cloud compare a lot and this solution eluded me. Thanks!
