Scans not opening?

Anonymous
Not applicable

On Oct 31 I used the Leica 360 and scanned an area.  They were on the ipad.

Today I went and opened the ipad so I could transfer them and it was gone.

I tried retrieving them from the scanner which did work.  They registered on the ipad but when transferring the scans to the PC they are gone and no info.  There is also no option to index them.

What am I doing wrong?

What happened?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Does your project or scan name(s) have any foreign characters in them such as / " ( or {

This could be causing issues with the transfer from iPad to Desktop where Windows won't allow it to create the required folder thus causing the project to appear empty.

Thanks for the reply.  No they do not have any characters in them.

I have done test scans to see if something was initially done wrong but same thing happens.  When I get to the "index" part of the download it doesn't index the scans.

This is very frustrating.  worked one day then doesn't the next.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm wondering if there is a software patch that was downloaded that messed things up?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the additional information. Can you let me know which firmware version (BLK360) and which Desktop ReCap Pro version - you are running?

The BLK is running off of 1.2.3 and Recap Pro is running on 1.2.2

Not sure if the desktop needs to be upgraded but I checked and there isn't any new updates for ReCap that I should install.  I'm having a hard time trying to find what has been installed on the desktop.

Thanks again

hi @Anonymous ,

Okay thanks for the ReCap mobile version and the BLK 360 firmware version numbers.

For Desktop Version of ReCap Pro there are two ways to check.

  • Launch Autodesk ReCap
  • Hover of the ? in the upper left corner (to the right of the "new project" icon)
  • select the "i" that drops down
  • Verison number will show here.

Alternatively, you can check as if you were going to uninstall the software.

Does the project still exist in ReCap Mobile?

Yes.  The project is on the ipad in recap pro.  You can pull it up on the ipad and see the scan.

It won't index on the laptop in recap pro though.  It never goes over 0%.

hi @Anonymous ,

This is definitely odd behavior. Can you verify the location of the recap file you're saving to? When you generate a new project can you tell it to be saved to your desktop and see if that makes a difference?

Sometimes we see issues with users directing the transfer to a network or adjacent drive.
