Scan to mech to CAD

Hi,

I am able to isolate out of a scan the portion that I want to re-model in CAD.

I could use scan to mech, to create an OBJ or RCM, but what then ?

How can I convert OBJ or RCM into DWG, DXF or DGN for furher use in plain CAD ?

Hi @Patrick_Aps_9121,

We don't have an automated process for this at the moment.

Just Scan-to-Mesh (OBJ), or using the point cloud as reference for drawing the CAD geometry manually.

What you can try is export the mesh from ReMake as FBX > open in AutoCAD and export as DWG, which then can possibly be used in something like Revit.

Although I'm not sure how this model would look like, but I believe it's possible.

More appropriate way may be through Inventor, if you have that product available, with a tool like Mesh Enabler.

If you use Mesh Enabler I would recommend decimating the mesh to 2-4 million triangles before converting.
