ReCap Pro Beta Mesh Classification

I've done a couple test cases for auto classifying mesh and while it seems to do great with easy things like walls/ceilings/columns, it doesn't do well in mechanical spaces. It will pick up the occasional pipe running thru a space but the results aren't great for anything more complicated than that. I'm not sure why it thought a duct (square) was a pipe (round). Honestly, it's better just to do it manually from the get go.

Anyone having better experiences that could help? I had really good scan coverage so that's not particularly the problem.

Hi,

Thanks for the details — I’m one of the developers of the auto-classification feature, and mechanical spaces can be tricky (the duct-vs-pipe mix-up is especially helpful to know). If you’re able, could you share the dataset so I can reproduce the issue and pinpoint what’s going wrong? Happy to work with whatever sharing method is easiest for you (link/upload).

Best Regards,

Daxuan

I'm trying to find a good project that I can share with you which isn't too old that the scanner itself isn't a previous model. If you could send me an email (adriennesherwood@grunley.com) then we can figure out the details. Thanks for the quick response!
