RCM file format

Hi,

I have googled around and I have not yeat found any answers on this. Hopefully someone can help me on this. What is the RCM file format, which can be downloaded in the preview mode? Can it be opened or converted in any Autodesk program? I would really like to insert the preview-mode model in Autocad or Civil 3D. Is it possible?

Best regards,

Gustav

Hi Gustav

.RCM is our reality computing MESH file format and is the native format of our product Memento that is also developed by the Reality SOlutions group in Autodesk. Memento is all in one solution for generating high resolution meshes from photos or scans, and has a full toolset for cleaning up, fixing and optimizing meshes for 3d pritning, export in other digital workflows or publish to web (export files: OBJ, OBJ with quads, FBX, STL and PLY export, export to point cloud via RCS export)

Memento is in Labs preview, available to anyone. We are going with Beta version of it life this week. You can currently download it here https://beta.autodesk.com/callout/?callid=D69655022B4F42C880513D4E3085C7D0

: but soon we will have a web site and easier to find downlaod. hope this helps

Thank You very much Tanja! This helped alot. Memento seems to be the way to go.

Only one small problem still though. When I export my RCM model to an FBX, Memento seems to do nothing. Even though the software says "Model exported", it did not even create an .FBX file. Did I do something wrong? Or is there any other file format that woud bring me a mesh with "photographic texture" into Autocad/Civil 3D? OBJ would be great but to my knowlede Autocad does not support that.

Best regards,

Gustav

I followed the link to Momento and it is a dead link. I am really confused. I'm trying to use Recap photo, tried my first model, got an RCM file back which I have no idea how to view. I'm still looking for proper documentation on how to use these apps.
