Poorly legible color in dialogs

In Rcap 2024 the text was perfectly legible. In the new version I have a white text on light gray. This is difficult to read.
Is it possible to change the color of the dialog?

Hi @pietronobel .

Thank you for reaching out to the forum with this issue.

We have noticed that our UI toolkit can now parse some styles from Windows theme settings.

Could you try changing Windows appearance settings (theme and color schema) to the default ones if you have any non-default settings specified as a quick fix or workaround?

If that works for you - could you please confirm?

From development side then we will file an issue to investigate this issue.

Regards,

Hi Oleksii,

Thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately, the appearance settings (theme and color schema) are locked by the company user rights.

Thanks you

Regards Pietro

I've noticed a similar problem in other menus. Some appearances use the light/dark theme setting from windows and others are not affected by the theme-settings. The result can be very difficult to read.

In the menu to start a new point cloud.

Light theme (left) is readable. In Windows dark theme (right) all text turns white, but menu also stays white/grey.

Project management menu in bottom right corner. In this menu for example there’s a right-click menu for classifications. The same problem occurs. Light theme (left) with black text is readable.

In dark theme (right) the text turns white, but menu background doesn’t change colour. Result is disappearing text, until you hover over it and the grey selection bar appears. In this example only “delete” is visible, because my mouse was hovering over this item during the screenshot.

Changing the windows theme can be a temporary solution, but I really hope Autodesk fixes this issue.

I don't know if this will help, but I could not read the text in the list, because the text and the background were almost the same grey color, when the Windows 11 mode and App mode, were set to Dark. After setting the app mode to light, the text is now readable.2025-01-31_19-39-45.png2025-01-31_19-41-43.png

Hi everyone,

We are sorry for the inconvenience and understand the frustration you've experienced with this issue.

Good news! We’ve fixed the issue where ReCap wasn’t rendering properly in any Windows theme/color schema other than white. This fix is available in the 2025.1 update.

Please give it a try and let us know if it works for you. If it does, you can close this discussion by marking this as the accepted solution. If you run into any more problems or have questions, feel free to just post an update here. Thanks!

Regards,
