After making my last tweak and saving the project, I inadvertently interrupted the screen redraw of the pointcloud that occurs during the save process. Turns unfortunately out, that not only stopped the screen redraw, but now I have lost all access to the points that did not finish redrawing. 60% of my scans are missing and I cannot get it back. So I've lost my work (at the exact moment I was ready to put it to bed) and I have to redo the project all over again.
When I interrupted the save/redraw and saw my point cloud was incomplete, I thought I just needed a redraw. Turn layers on/off, save-as the project without removing points, rebooting, reloading projects... no matter what I do, those points are gone. I know the points must be there. I interrupted a screen redraw, there is no way those actual points where trashed from the array of Support Folder files that contained all that information. I deleted the project's two files in the Temporary Cache Files folder hoping that would redraw the project view and that my points are not really gone. Did not work.
The program needs to be robust enough so that if the user brushes a key on the keyboard during a save operation, the whole thing doesn't go belly up.
