LAS file to PLS-Tower file

GM, All,

I'm looking for someone who used to use LAS file of survey lattice tower in Transmission Line and create lattice tower from that survey.

I used Recap to open the LAs file and create the rcp file to import to Autocad or Civil 3D, but still not easy to get member dimensions or render or any other things help me to define the angle (members of Lattice tower).

It'll help if you've got the original drawings, but you're going to be either a) stuck doing it manually or b) using something like Edgewise ClearEdge or Faro As-Built to do the modelling for you.

If I have drawings I will go with Tower of power line and create my Model (I used to do that). This issue is we don't have drawings or unreadble drawings, old one.

That why we went to survey. a nd trying to get Angles dimensions.

We did too a climbing of the tower to get all missing dimensions and Angles size. From that we creat our Models.

What I want is from rcp, can we extract angles dimensions and more important the thikness of it? That it really challenging.

We use Leica Cloudworx for AutoCAD to extract steel shapes from a recap pointcloud. It is a time-consuming process but it works.
