How to set Reference Scan/ Home Scan World in ReCap

Hi,

if I import the scans from BLK, I get always in the registration option withnout possibility to set the Home Scan World (Leica name) or Reference Scan (Faro name).

I found this - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/recap-forum/re-register-single-scan/m-p/7315871#M9730, but there is no solution for me. I would need to set some scan from the middle of my scanning as a Home Scan World . When I remove all scans from Registration group, it is not possible to remove the last one or to switch the last one with another one (the Home Scan World is always the first scan, right?).reg.png

Why I am asking, we had a project, where the finall point cloud is not horizontal. If somebody had a similar troubles, we would be thankful for sharing the experience and advices how to avoid that.reg1.png

We fixed the whole unified point cloud in a different program. But there is a question, if the problem comes into existence during the registration process (mostly cloud-to-cloud) in ReCap and if it is possible to fix it in Recap Pro in PC without using some advanced registration programmm as Leica Cyclone, where it is possible to fix it easily. In ReCap I mean "re-registration" the scans by setting the different Home Scan World and adding some control points. I can't find it.

Thank you.

Hey,

Open the project support in the folder, you have an rcs file , use that rcs file by importing it in a new prroject

I'm just checking in to see if you need more help with this. Did the suggestion that @miguelantunes1992 provided work for you?

Hi @miguelantunes1992 and @anil_mistry,

thank you both for your response!

The solution from Miguel is one way, but only in case, if I want to register the scans again and if I decided already on the beginning of registration, what my home scan world is. Am I right?

But I have the whole project with more scans and it has been registred mostly in Recap Mobile App. It means, that my home scan world is the first scan from the project. Then few troubles appear there during the registration process and I would like to change the home scan world for another scan. Is it possible to do it in ReCap Pro during the registration process (not to start from beginning)?

And have you ever seen any similar troubles with "unhorizontal" point clouds as I mentioned above, please?

Thank you.

Yes I have seen that problem with "unhorizontal" point clouds, unfortunately you have to make that scan again.

The best solution for your problem if you want to be 100% sure is to start from the beggining.
Other way is if you know the number of that scan, make another project with that scan and then in Recap Pro merge these two projects.

Don't know if it will help you sorry,
Miguel Antunes

Thank you Miguel Antunes!

I was thinking, that there is no easy solution for that.

Last question, please. Do you have any idea, what could be cause of these "unhorizontal" point clouds? If some mistake of inclinometer or whatever else....

No problem,just want to help

It could be the inclinometer yes, BLK work at maximum an 10º angle of inclination i guess,
Remember if the floor was fragile or slippery?
