Getting an error message: ER0000 when trying to open ReCap Pro publish project

Hi there

Last year I "published" a point cloud consisting of 15 scans to the online viewer, and as I remember, it worked just fine back then. A link was created, and forwarded to the customer.

However now I'm seeing the same error (ER000) when trying to load the point cloud, using the same link as was created back then - see fig. 1

Pls feel free to have a look:

https://recap.autodesk.com/scanviewer/059a87e4cd004341ae5a360979b6cda8

If you want to see the scan, as published to a html file - fls follow this link:

http://www.libak.dk/3Dscanning/examples/webster_hall_grand_ball_room.html

These are the steps I have taken so far to try to recover the scan project:

  • I have tried to move all other files/ folders to trash, to no avail (following your advise: "Please, try to correct the issue by going to A360 project folder and moving recent projects to the Trash").
  • I have tried to download the folder with the entire project, and tried to open using Recap Pro 2019
    • Individual scans are shown with file paths, but rcs files does not exist -see fig.2
    • Theres only one large rcs_temp file see fig3. I have tried to remove "_temp" from the file extension but file is apparently corrupted and will not open in Recap, Navisworks etc.
  • I have tried to open the rcs_temp file in other programs...This didn't work. Is it a binary file?
  • How can I recover this project?

Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

Hi @jesper,

Thank you for participating in our community! Would you be able to let me know what version of browser you are using? Have you tried saving ReCap Pro to different name and then publishing? Let me know if this helps.

Thank you and have a great day!

Thank you for replying!

Tried Edge, Chrome and firefox

Problem is I lost the raw scans and only have the files in the A360 drive – including the corrupt 3GB rcs file – is there a way I can open this file and recover as much data as possible?

Hi @jesper,

I am sorry to hear that. You can try to create new project and import RCS and see it you can salvage your project.

Let me know if this helps.

This was one of the first things I tried. Also to append the rcs file in Navisworks - not working 😕

Does anyone have information about the rcs file format, like file structure etc. is it a binary file, is it a compressed file?

Would like to be able to open the file, correct it/ recover as much data as possible, and then hopefully open it again in recap
