Not much to say other than, yes, I am opening this via the Recap Pro desktop app. Then I get the error message.
I've already told my client that, based on clues in the error message, I suspect that Recap can be performed in the cloud (which I never do nor ever will.... forensic issues), but this project was and now I'm opening it locally and it won't work for some apples vs. oranges (desktop vs. cloud) reason.
This was done by a third party in the case and we have no control of any of it. They were told to product their work and this is what we got.
It all looks normal in that there is a project file and the associated Support folder with the dozens of support files, rcs's rcc's etc... An image of the support folder is attached. The "bike" scans show up in Recap after you close the error message. The bus does not (which is what we want most of all). They were in the same storage lot outside when all this was scanned. The reason I know this is the mirror balls for all the scans are there, including the bus, so you can look at the Real View and see the bus that is being scanned from any given scan location, the bus pointcloud in this registered project is not there though. The bike pointcloud is there with all those mirror balls around it. You can open an individual rcs in the support folder and see just that scan's pointcloud.
If the answer is, it was done this other web way and it cannot be given to a third party for opening via the desktop app, then so be it. I just need to tell my client what the deal is. If it is a web vs.desktop issue. It would be nice if they could be designed to be compatible.
Maybe there is a way to save a web based project to make it desktop friendly?
Anyway,
Thanks for looking into it.
