Changing background to have sky etc

Hi,

I'm using ReCap Pro for laser scanning projects.

When I produce ortho-images is there anyway to change the background to an image/have sky with clouds in ReCap,

There are options for solid and gradient colours but they are not quite what I am after.

I've attached a comparison image, ideally I would like both sides to have similar skyline if that makes sense (sorry for company branding, cant find the original!)

Many thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the suggestion. Would a static image suffice for your needs, or would you be more interested in a full skymap which would track with camera movements?

Although ReCap Pro does not at the moment support custom images as backgrounds, images that are exported in the PNG format support transparent backgrounds which would allow you to easily composite in the background of your choice in an image editor or presentation tool.

Here is a sequence of images showing the workflow.

Select PNG format & the Transparency option

Hi Marc

Thanks for the response, that looks like a viable solution and work through.

It would be great that if in an update something like this was added within ReCAP as it would just down on additional steps. I'm sure its a lot more complicated than what I'm thinking though!

Many thanks for the help.
