Need the 2016 version for school but under versions there is only 2017 and newer

whatever versions Autodesk has on the student website is all you get

Hi @hamidullahmuzghole,

For commercial customers, access is granted for the current + previous 5 versions and support is granted for current + 3 previous versions. Ultimately technology only moves forward so it doesn't make sense to keep providing updates with a minority of customers will be using. For Education, we get access to the supported versions (current + 3 years).

In both cases, 2016 versions are outside of both access and support for both commercial and educational users. Currently, for education, the oldest version supported is 2020. If your laptop cannot support 2020 then it would more than likely struggle with 2016 since the largest change was the recommended RAM.
