Hi @PietBredell8116,
I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
AutoCAD LT 2009 was designed to run on Windows XP or Vista. It will not run on Windows 10. Here are the system requirements.
Perhaps you should install a Trial of current product to see how it performs for you.

Windows File Explorer Icons have nothing to do with whether your program crashes or not, just like whether a red car is more reliable than a white car.
Find out why your Windows session changed everything and reverse it: it was probably yesterday's WIn10 update.

Hi @habeason
I am happy that this has been working for you up to now but changed in the Operating System Architecture as well as dependence on C++ and .NET Framework, means that you are putting your productivity at risk as evidenced by this recent incident. Microsoft controls these changes and not Autodesk. So that means you have some choices to make:

The statement was that it is not supported if it works you are running on luck and with one or other update of Windows your luck might run out, it has nothing to do with it working now or not, it could just stop one day. If you have old software that was designed on an old OS then keep running on the old computer or be aware you might lose it all. And when that happens no one can help get it back.

I used my AutoCAD LT 2009 software until July 2021.
RIP LT2009 - You were a good build.
