Inventor 2017 does not open

Hello!

I installed Inventor 2017 from files that I got from Autodesk Client Services (for Product Desing Suite Premium 2017 in PL version) and it doesn't open. When I try to open the splash screen appears and after half loading it disappers and the program doesn't launch.

I tried to follow steps showed in article:

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Unable-to-launch-I... and reinstalled it but it didn't change anything.

We tried the installation on 2 computers, at first computer I activated it with serial number, on the second we tried trial version, but it didn't matter, because we have the same problem launching on both computers. After reinstalling we can't even choose trial version anymore.

Hi!

So the problem is to activate the license?

The online activation system is down for old licenses.
You can try to activate it in offline mode:

Select that mode and get the codes for each pc

In Autodesk site, open a chat with an operator and ask for offline activation counter code.

Nowadays, you can only have trials to try the most recent version (2026).

I don't think the activation is the problem. I activated it during installation and when I typed the serial number it showed the info that activation is completed and I have the file with registration information. It didn't show me the option to offline activation. Then the installation finnished but the program doesn't open. I tried also installing it on my home computer with the same operating system (Win 11 Pro) and it works in trial mode without any problems.

Win11 is not a supported OS for Inventor 2017: so there is never going to be a fix from Autodesk pretty much ever sadly, and this alone is going to be their stance about any issues you face. So be ready for that push-back if and when you reach anyone at Autodesk to help fix it.

Good luck.
