AutoCAD 2010 LT license transfer

Hello,

we are using AutoCAD 2010 LT and I am about to transfer the license from one computer to another.

I tried to install AutoCAD 2010 LT on a new machine but I am unable to activate the software as it says that this version cannot be activated.

I tried to export the license from the current computer to the cloud using the License Transfer Utility. But when I log myself in and click "Export", I am getting Error 900 saying that "This product cannot be activated due to problem with a serial number or product version". The message is the same as in the activation process.

How should I activate the newly installed software, please?

Thanks

Michal

Versions 2010 and older can no longer be activated, and are not designed to work on newer Windows versions so probably wouldn't work either. There is a dedicated forum for installation of older versions which might offer you some help. Otherwise, just keep using your old computer.

As it is written here (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/activate/transfer-licenses/license-...), the utility should support versions from 2009 onwards.

I do not request any support, I would simply like using the product we purchased, hence I need activation. I do not care whether the activation is performed online or transferred from another computer.

For other reasons I cannot continue using the old computer and need to migrate to a newer one.

Thanks

As is written here, 2010 no longer can be activated.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

LT2010 is not supported in Win10, and lots of 2010 users this week so far who are o Win10 are here complaining about dead LT2010 because of an OS update http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

These tips may or may not help, no one at Autodesk is interested any more in legacy software and there is nothing you can do about it so far https://windowsreport.com/autocad-not-working-windows-10/

Please don't shoot the messenger, we are all just users here on the forum, but the fact is LT 2010 and older are no longer supported nor can they be activated (by any means) those are just facts, you can use it as long as your older computer and older operating system hold out, but newer machines are designed to work differently that is just a fact of life which is why we have updates to programs and why you should think about updating to the latest version.

I'll be absolutely honest with this.

I'm in the same boat as the originator of this thread and i think that the attitude of "tough, roll with it" just stinks.  What kind of arrogance prevails?  I'll tell you which type..."Greed".

Messenger or otherwise, they have hidden tehmselves behind a veil of "smoke and moirrors" and I for one wil not be using or subscribing to their software going forward.

I've been running AutoCAD 2010 on Windows 10 with no issues. I have now bought a new laptop and want to transfer the software and it won't allow it.

Whether it runs or not on Windows 10 is only a matter of luck, for some people it has worked for others a Windows 10 update kills the program. AutoCAD LT was never designed to run on that OS and was never 'supported' by Autodesk to do so. But since August 31 2019 AutoCAD 2010 and older versions where retired and will no longer be automatically activated by Autodesk, however if you have all the original documentation then you can try this contact page where you might get some assistance but this is on a case by case basis so no guarantees. Good luck
