Hi

Just to clarify, are you looking to do this with a macro or are you hoping/open to use the PowerShape and PowerMill API and write a .Net application to do this?

Hi Luke,

I've created a case (CaseNo:15946527) hoping to do this process via macro.

I've got a response

"Hello Kyriakos,

Greetings from Autodesk!

Thank you for choosing Autodesk Technical Support. My name is Ragunathan  and I will be helping you with your Service Request.

I have gone through your case, query of requested for the custom macro creation . As we are not supporting to create any custom macro, so I would suggest you to post the query in PowerShape and PowerMill API forum for help on this subject.  I am sure there you will get the help from experts to creating the macro for exporting.

If you need assistance with regarding this issue, feel free to contact us I will be happy to help you.

Thank you and Have a Great Day!

Best regards,
Ragunathan P
Technical Support Team
Autodesk"

I wish i could move a little bit further in order to start doing thing on automation using API but i am not

so good on programming using Visual studio.

I have the will to try...

Hi

So I'm clear:

1 - The 5 digit code would come from the first 5 digits of the assembly?

2 - The XXX 3 digit code would be incremental from the folder system?

3 - The component name would be the name of the selected solid?

Thanks

Hi Luke,

1 - The 5 digit code would come from the first 5 digits of the assembly?  "YES"

2 - The XXX 3 digit code would be incremental from the folder system? "INSIDE PROJECT'S FOLDER  I'LL HAVE   CREATED A SUBFOLDER FOREACH COMPONENT"

3 - The component name would be the name of the selected solid? "YES"

I would suggest that either a VBS file or better yet, a .NET application would be best suited to this.  These are more powerful than the macro language for PowerShape when working with the file system as you require.

Do you have experience with the PowerShape and PowerMill API described in the sticky posts in this part of the forum?  Do you have experience with .NET?
